Riders Jordi Torres and Kevin Zannoni face the first of seven race weekends in France
The Power Electronics Aspar Team opens the MotoE season this weekend at the historic Le Mans circuit. Jordi Torres and Kevin Zannoni return to action this weekend with the first race of the electric category season at Le Mans, the scene of Torres' first victory with the team in 2023 and the Italian's first World Championship podium, also with the Aspar Team, in 2024. After a productive pre-season test in Barcelona last April, the Power Electronics Aspar Team riders will have a final day of testing this Thursday before the official start of the competition on Friday, with the two free practice sessions and the qualifying, which will define the grid for the two races on Saturday.
After this weekend's event in France, the MotoE World Championship calendar will continue in six other countries until November. During this period, the electric category will visit the circuits of Assen, Red Bull Ring, Barcelona, Misano and Portimao, and, for the first time, it will compete in Hungary, in August. There will be eighteen riders from nine teams, including Matteo Ferrari, Mattia Casadei, Alessandro Zaccone and Eric Granado, some of the fastest riders of the Barcelona test. Zannoni and Torres finished all the test days in the top ten and in France they will fight to get closer to the front positions and start the season on the right foot.
Jordi Torres:
Kevin Zannoni: “We're finally back racing after a long winter break, and I was really looking forward to it. We worked hard during the test because the bike has changed quite a bit thanks to the new features Ducati has introduced, but we'll have to keep working, especially on braking, where I still don't feel at my best like last year. Le Mans is a track I really like, one that suits my riding style well. I have good memories from last year, and I'm happy we're starting the season there.”
