Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia arrive at the last race before the summer break
The Czech GP returns to the Moto3 calendar after a five-year absence, and the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team wants to go into the summer break with its homework done. Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia will complete their second double-header of 2025 this weekend after a more than positive German Grand Prix. Quiles secured his fourth podium in just seven races at Sachsenring, while Foggia climbed 12+1 positions to finish eleventh. The latter will have an advantage in the Czech Republic, as he is one of the few riders in the category who already knows the circuit. The last race held there in 2020 was also Foggia's first victory in Moto3, so the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider will take to the track with even more motivation. In recent races, the Italian has gained confidence and is becoming increasingly competitive with the team, so this time he will be looking to be among the frontrunners and close the gap in the overall standings. For Máximo Quiles, facing an unfamiliar circuit is not an added difficulty. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rookie has adapted perfectly to the pace of the small category, and his figures prove it. In addition, his last podium in Germany was even more special as it was the 450th for Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ and the Aspar Team. The Spaniard is not putting any extra pressure on himself, although he is confident of returning to the front of the pack in this new challenge.
The Moto3 overall standings continue with José Antonio Rueda in the lead after finishing third in Germany. However, the fight for the top positions has tightened with the latest results. Ángel Piqueras has regained second place and remains 73 points behind Rueda, while Carpe is back in third place, one point behind Piqueras. Joel Kelso and David Muñoz are fourth and fifth with 110 and 107 points respectively, while Máximo Quiles is sixth with 106 (24 points behind second place). Dennis Foggia has moved up to tenth place with 62 points. This puts CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team in fourth place in the team standings, just one point away from the top three.
Máximo Quiles: “I've been practising on the video game to learn the circuit before arriving there. It looks good and it's a fast track, so my first impression has been pretty good. I'm still learning every weekend, now it's a new place and I'll have to learn the lines. From there, we'll set some goals for Saturday and Sunday. I feel good enough to be fighting for the top positions and we'll try to be again on the front.”
Dennis Foggia: “Brno is a circuit that I love. I won the last race there, and it was also my first victory in Moto3. I want to go into the summer break with a great result. I know the circuit, so we'll try to take advantage of that. I'm feeling better and better with both the bike and the team, so we'll go for it.”
