Solid race for CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar in Thailand

Dennis Foggia finishes sixth in a difficult race where tyre management was key

The first race of the 2025 season took place this Sunday at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand. The Moto3 riders have faced a very tough race, in which the extreme temperatures have marked the management of the 19 laps disputed. José Antonio Rueda led the race to take the victory, accompanied on the podium by Spaniards Álvaro Carpe and Adrián Fernández. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team went from strength to strength and both riders moved up positions from the start. Dennis Foggia made a good start from the fifth row, which allowed him to get closer to the leading group after the first few laps. The Italian rider remained in the top positions and even fought for a place in the top 5, although an incident in front of him in the last part of the race made him drop some positions and loose all the options to fight for the podium. After constant changes in the group, Foggia recovered places again and crossed the finish line in an outstanding sixth position in his return to Moto3.

Jakob Rosenthaler faced his first race at the Thai circuit. The Austrian rider climbed positions after starting from the back of the grid and maintained a great pace to reach the points positions as soon as possible. Rosenthaler went from strength to strength and, despite being involved in an intense fight in the main group, he managed each lap well to get to fourteenth. Unfortunately, awith another rider on the eighth corner of the last lap led to a crash that prevented him from scoring his first points in the small category.

6th Dennis Foggia (+11.644): “It was a very nice race. It was like the first day of school, but with a 'déjà vu' feeling. I managed every situation well and we were in front, not to fight for the first position, but I think we had the potential to be on the podium. Moto3 races are like that, a mistake from another rider made me go wide, but I was able to recover positions again and we rode faster than the podium group. After two years I am very happy with this first race. Thanks to the whole team for their work, they have allowed me to be always calm.”

Jakob Rosenthaler (crash): “Overall it was a very good race. I was able to catch up with the group and keep the pace, overtake positions and fight with them. I think my pace was even better than the riders behind me. I'm very happy with the race because I was able to hold my own in these tough conditions. It was the most difficult race I've ever done, the tyres were wearing out a lot in the last laps with these temperatures. I was leading the group, but on the last lap another rider hit me and I crashed with four corners to go. I don't think it was my mistake, but I'm very happy with the weekend and the progress we made.”
