The Argentine rider will team up in 2026 with Máximo Quiles and, for the first time, will complete a CFMOTO Aspar Team composed of four riders who raced with the Aspar Team Junior
Marco Morelli will return to the Aspar Team in 2026 to compete in the Moto3 World Championship. The Argentinian completes the CFMOTO Aspar Team for the next year, a season in which, for the first time in its history, the team will feature four riders who raced in the Aspar Team Junior. Morelli will be Máximo Quiles’ teammate in Moto3, while David Alonso and Dani Holgado will continue to race in Moto2.
Morelli's debut as a rider came in mid-2017, shortly after his tenth birthday, riding for Aspar Team Junior in the 85GP Spanish Championship. In his first race, Morelli finished fifth. That same year, he missed the final round of the championship, where, by coincidence, he was replaced by his future teammate, David Alonso.
In 2018, Morelli was able to compete for the entire season: he achieved seven podiums in eight races and finished third in a year in which Alonso was the champion. Since then, the Argentinian has continued learning in PreMoto3, the European Talent Cup, the Rookies Cup, and the JuniorGP. He currently combines these last two categories with the Moto3 World Championship, where he debuted with a thirteenth place at the Czech Grand Prix.
Jorge Martínez “Aspar”: “I’m proud to say that the project we started almost ten years ago, focused on working with riders from the very beginning, has led us to have in 2026 four riders competing with us after having been in the Aspar Team Junior. We've seen them grow, we've helped them shine, and next year we want to strive for big goals with all of them. I'm delighted to welcome Marco Morelli, who began his racing career with us in 2017. We believe it's the perfect time for him to make his debut as a permanent rider in the World Championship, and we're going to give him every possible tool to help him continue to grow.”
Marco Morelli: “I'm very happy to be able to race next year with the CFMOTO Aspar Team and to return to a team that's almost a family, especially after spending two years together in 2017 and 2018. I'm really looking forward to this new challenge; I think 2026 will be a good year. I hope to work well with my team and my teammates, with Jorge and Nico, and to give my all throughout the year to seek the best results.”
