Dennis Foggia and Jakob Rosenthaler ended eleventh and twentieth respectively in the second round of the season
After two years of absence, the Termas de Río Hondo circuit hosted a world championship race. The Moto3 riders faced similar conditions to last Friday, with overcast skies but no rain forecast. Ángel Piqueras was the winner of the second round of the calendar, in which the final podium was decided in the last metres, with Adrián Fernández and José Antonio Rueda in second and third position respectively.
The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team faced a difficult Sunday in Argentina, where both riders struggled to find a good feeling. Foggia started the race from the fourth row of the grid and tried to stay in the front group. However, the Italian rider lost positions and was forced to make a comeback to get back into the points. Foggia was able to recover in the final stretch and increased his pace to overtake several of his rivals. After a hard fought last lap, the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider finished the Argentina Grand Prix in eleventh place.
Jakob Rosenthaler also had to fight at Termas de Río Hondo. The Austrian rider started with a good feeling and was determined to put in a good performance in his last race with the team. Rosenthaler managed to make up positions, although tyre wear did not work in his favour in terms of riding feeling. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider was able to increase his speed in the final laps to cross the finish line in 20th position.
11th Dennis Foggia (+4.990): “It was a very difficult race. We struggled with the rear grip and I tried to attack. In the last two laps I pushed as hard as I could and I was able to move up four or five positions. In the end we finished eleventh, we scored new points for the standings. We will continue to improve and our time will come to be at the front to attack. Thanks to the team for all the work, see you soon!”
20th Jakob Rosenthaler (+21.940): “Today's race was very difficult. In the first five laps I had a good pace and stayed in the group, but after that the feeling wasn't good and I had no grip on the rear tyre. I felt a lot of tyre wear and I fell behind. I tried to push harder so as not to lose them, but I made some mistakes and I couldn't catch them anymore. In the second half of the race it was difficult to do anything else, I tried to calm down to push again and I was faster. It wasn't the result we were hoping for in Argentina.”
