David Alonso wins the 12+1 for Valencia

The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider has achieved the victory at the Malaysian GP after coming back from thirteenth position

Once again, CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider David Alonso has been the best. The world champion has scored his 12+1 victory at the Malaysian GP and has become the first rider in the lightweight category to achieve six consecutive wins since Valentino Rossi in 1997. The young Colombian has started from third place, but on the second lap he has gone down to thirteenth position after having to avoid Dani Holgado, who has crashed. From that moment on, the world champion's race has become a comeback to return to the leading group. He has only needed three laps to reach fourth place and in five he was already riding in a podium position. Up ahead, Taiyo Furusato and Joel Kelso have been fighting for the lead until the Australian has made a mistake that has cost him several positions. Furusato has stayed in front, but Alonso had not yet had his last word. With three laps to go, the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider has overtaken the Japanese and has left him no chance. Alonso has achieved his thirteenth victory of the year, a win that he has not hesitated to dedicate to all those affected by the heavy rains and floods that has suffered Valencia this week. Furusato has ended second and José Antonio Rueda, who has made a great comeback from tenth position, third.

The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider Joel Esteban has only been able to complete a few metres of the Malaysian GP race. The rookie, who has started from twenty-first position on the grid, has crashed in the second corner. Esteban has suffered a strong blow that has forced him to go to the medical center where, after a check-up, the doctors have detected a small fracture in his left humerus.

Valencia and its citizens are experiencing one of the most challenging moments in recent history. The surrounding areas of the city are facing a severe climate emergency due to intense rainfall and flash floods. Thousands of families have lost their homes, businesses, and access to basic services like drinking water, electricity, and safe shelter. At Aspar Team, in collaboration with GoFundMe, we have launched this campaign to support those affected, providing immediate aid and hope to those most in need. Every donation is backed by our guarantee, ensuring that funds go directly to those impacted by this crisis.

VICTORY David Alonso: “Everything I do is because I feel it. If I celebrate it is because I feel it, and today I did not feel like celebrating. I just wanted to cross the finish line and show the Valencian flag. It has been hard to be professional and do my job this weekend. I have achieved this victory thanks to my team, because since they are far from their families, at least I can offer them this win, but now there are more important things. Today the records are in the background, the result did not matter, I was racing for them.”

Joel Esteban (crash): “It has been a weekend to forget. The first day we did very few laps in the dry and the feeling was not good. Yesterday went quite well, I felt comfortable, especially in the last practice session. In the race I have not made it to the second corner, I have crashed and I have a small fracture in the humerus.”
