CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider David Alonso will start from second position on the grid in the German GP. The Colombian has got straight to Q2 and, in his penultimate attempt in the qualifying session, he has managed to climb to the first position with a record of 1:25.221. However, in his last lap, Collin Veijer has beaten Alonso's time by three tenths after completing a lap inof 1:24.885. With this time, the Dutch has beaten the track record and has achieved his first pole of the season. Rookie Luca Lunetta will complete the front row, after reaching his best qualifying position in Moto3. Alonso will fight tomorrow to get back to the top of the podium in a race in which tyre management will be decisive.

His teammate Joel Esteban has had to compete in Q1 in his debut in Sachsenring and has qualified to Q2 with the best time. There, the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider has finished sixteenth. Despite this, tomorrow he will have to start from the pit lane after receiving a penalty for riding excessively slow in the last practice session. Esteban will fight to come back tomorrow and be able to keep learning before the summer break.

2nd David Alonso 1:25.221 (+0.336): “It was quite hot and it was difficult to find grip on the rear. Seeing how the weekend started, today we have felt better and better. I have to thank Joel because he has helped me a lot in qualifying. We have had many races without suffering with the tyres, but here the tyre management will be very important. The last laps will be difficult, there is where we will see differences between the riders. We need to be as prepared as possible.”

16th Joel Esteban 1:26.163 (+1.278): “It has not been an easy day. I am happy with the work we have done, except for the penalty we have received. We have a good pace for tomorrow's race. I hope to be able to recover positions and get a good result.”
