The Colombian rider was the fastest on both days of testing, whilst Joel Esteban showed a great adaptation
David Alonso has also ended on top of the timesheets on the second day of the private Moto3 test held at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve (Portugal). The Colombian has shown great pace over the two days of testing and has closed the test as the fastest rider, with a time of 1:46.690, ahead of Collin Veijer and Dani Holgado, both of whom are more than eight tenths off the Colombian. Alonso's feeling on the CFMOTO is very positive. The young rider has been very strong on a single lap, but he will still have to work on his race pace.
On the other side of the box, Joel Esteban has continued his adaptation and progression with the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team. The Catalan, who is satisfied with the work he has done, has completed a total of 109 laps and has finished the day with a time of 1:48.788, just over two seconds off the best time set by his team-mate.
1st David Alonso 1:46.690 (121 laps): "We finish the first test very happy with the way we worked. We have confirmed that the combination of bike and rider is good, we have the speed on one lap and I feel quite good riding alone. We have to keep working to prepare better for the races. I have to focus on the long runs. We've had a three-month break, in Moto3 you act very fast and it's difficult to stay focused for many laps in a row, that's where we have to focus. There is still room to improve to be more complete for the race."
18th Joel Esteban 1:48.788 (109 laps): "I'm very happy with the work done between the two days of testing. In wet conditions we were in front, and we got a good set-up, although in dry conditions I'm still a little bit off. I still need to work on my braking, on turning the bike and on understanding the tyres. I'm happy and I've made a good step forward."
