David Alonso aims to bounce back in France

CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team wants to forget the Spanish Grand Prix with a great result at Le Mans

France is the next stop of the Moto3 World Championship and the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team arrives there with high expectations. After a Spanish Grand Prix where the result was not the expected, the team has a new opportunity to shine at Le Mans. David Alonso is still one of the favourites in the lightweight category. The young Colombian was the protagonist in Jerez, leading all the practice sessions, beating the circuit record, and taking pole position. In addition, he was also the fastest in the tests held after the Grand Prix. In the race, a crash on the first lap impeded him from fighting for the victory, but he recovered fifteen positions to finish eleventh. Alonso now heads to the French Grand Prix with his sights set on winning again. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider is second in the standings, just six points off the leader, Dani Holgado, and his goal is to hunt him down. Alonso and Holgado have a big advantage at the top of the standings, but the winner of the last race in Jerez, Collin Veijer, or Iván Ortolá, who finished third, will be rivals to watch out for in France, where the weather plays usually an key factor.

Joel Esteban travels to France after a great performance at the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Gaviota Team rider had a very competitive weekend from the start, demonstrating his great adaptation to the small category. However, a crash on the last corner of the last lap when he was in fifth position prevented him from closing the grand prix with a good result. Esteban arrives at Le Mans with confidence after a successful test day in Jerez and, although he has never raced at the French track, he will be aiming to fight again in the leading group.

David Alonso: "We arrive in France, at a circuit that I liked last year, and where it will be important to be prepared to adapt to any weather conditions we have. We will take into account the mistake in Jerez, knowing that we can never relax, and we will work as hard as possible from the very first moment."

Joel Esteban: "In Jerez we were fighting for the lead and then for the top 5 before the crash and this makes us even more excited for Le Mans. It's a difficult circuit for me, just like Jerez, but if I could do it there, I can also do it in France. Of course, I will have to work hard from the start, because it's a track I've never raced on before."
