BARCELONA GP

CFMOTO Valresa Aspar begins the last GP of the year

David Alonso has finished the day in fourteenth position, while rookie Marcos Uriarte has been twenty-second

This weekend, the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya is hosting the last GP of the season, a GP that should have been held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, but it has not been possible due to the complicated situation in Valencia following the floods of two weeks ago. Therefore, Moto3 is competing for the second time this year in Barcelona, although with pretty different track conditions, as the temperature is much lower than in May, when the Catalan GP was held. The first day of practice has been very tight, with eighteen riders within less than a second. Among them has been CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider David Alonso, who has set the fourteenth fastest time. The world champion has started the GP really strong and has finished third in the first practice session. However, in the afternoon, Alonso has been unable to repeat among the fastest. The Colombian has spent his first outing on the track riding alone and working on his race pace. In his second outing, Alonso has managed to improve and has set a time of 1:47.240, a register that puts him in provisional Q2 positions, but more than six tenths off the best time achieved by Dani Holgado. Alonso is aware that he has room for improvement and hopes to take a step forward tomorrow that would allow him to fight for the top positions on the grid.

CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider Marcos Uriarte has completed a really solid first day at the Circuit de Barcelona - Catalunya. The Spanish, who is replacing the injured Joel Esteban, has finished the day in twenty-second position. Uriarte has spent the first practice sessions adapting to the new bike and trying to learn as much as possible. From one session to the next he has managed to improve more than eight tenths his time, gradually reducing the gap with the leader. Tomorrow, Uriarte has a new opportunity to continue progressing in the last practice session before qualifying.

Valencia and its citizens are experiencing one of the most challenging moments in recent history. The surrounding areas of the city are facing a severe climate emergency due to intense rainfall and flash floods. Thousands of families have lost their homes, businesses, and access to basic services like drinking water, electricity, and safe shelter. At Aspar Team, in collaboration with GoFundMe, we have launched this campaign to support those affected, providing immediate aid and hope to those most in need. Every donation is backed by our guarantee, ensuring that funds go directly to those impacted by this crisis.

14th David Alonso 1:47.240 (+0.672): “It’s the same track we raced here in May, but the feeling is totally different. With the lower temperatures, the grip changes completely, the tyre degradation is different and it’s more complicated. Finishing fourteenth today means I have not done it right, I was not focused. It has been hard for me. I need to rest well and change my mentality for tomorrow.”

22nd Marcos Uriarte 1:47.897 (+1.329): “The first day has been quite positive. We have made great progress from the first to the second practice session. I am very happy with the work we have done. It is all very tight, the important thing is the difference with respect to the first and we are 1.3 seconds behind. Tomorrow, we have another practice to continue improving and try to reduce that gap.”
