CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar wants another podium in Indonesia

The only team to have made it onto the podium in the last four Indonesian Grand Prix races wants to continue its winning streak in the Asian country, but also that of Máximo Quiles, who has achieved eight in the last eleven races

After a positive weekend in Japan, Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia travel to Indonesia this week, where the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team wants to repeat its podium finish and maintain both a historic and current streak. The team is the only one in the three categories to have finished in the top three in the last four editions of the Indonesian Grand Prix: in the last three, held at the Mandalika circuit, and in 1997, when Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ finished third at Sentul. Izan Guevara, in 2022, and David Alonso, in 2023 and 2024, continued to extend a feat that Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia want to be part of this year. The Spanish rider also arrives at this new World Championship stop eager to continue his own positive trend: at Motegi, he achieved his eighth podium of the season, all of them in the last eleven races. Quiles the second rider to have stepped more times on the podium, despite his youth and lack of experience, and in Indonesia he wants to return to the top positions and continue to extend his lead over Álvaro Carpe in the fight to be the rookie of the year.

His teammate Dennis Foggia knows what it's like to compete in Indonesia and even win there. The Italian climbed to the top of the podium in his last year in Moto3, in 2022. Foggia arrives in Indonesia with a bad taste in his mouth from Japan, where a penalty of starting from the back of the grid affected a race in which he had a chance to fight with the front group. Despite this, the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider was able to recover fifteen positions to finish in tenth place. After his latest performance, the Italian is twelfth in the Moto3 overall standings, which is led by José Antonio Rueda with a 93-point advantage over his main rival, Ángel Piqueras. This difference will give him the first chance to become Moto3 world champion this weekend in Indonesia, where he needs to finish with a 100-point lead to make it happen. Quiles remains third, 18 points behind the second-placed rider, while David Muñoz is fourth, just seven points behind the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider.

Máximo Quiles: “This weekend, my first goal will be to learn the circuit. From that moment on, we'll see how the Grand Prix develops and where we are. I think this track will suit me well because it has fast corners and very hard braking points, like in the final part, so I'm sure we'll enjoy it.”

Dennis Foggia: “Mandalika is again one of my favourite circuits, and I also won there in my last year in Moto3. I love riding there, and after the good feelings I had in Japan, I'm going to continue working with the team to get back to the front.”
