Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia return to competition after a three-week summer break
The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team is putting an end to the summer break and will return to work this weekend in Austria at the Red Bull Ring , the stage oft the thirteenth round of the championship. Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia arrive in a great moment, after the Spaniard took his fifth podium in the last round held in Czechia and the Italian fought for it until the last lap. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team riders face this grand prix as a new opportunity to climb positions in the standings and fight once again for the podium. On this occasion Quiles has experience in the Austrian circuit, where he was second and third in the two Rookies Cup races held a year ago, and wants to start the weekend being competitive from the first practice sessions. On the other hand, Dennis Foggia was third in his last Moto3 race in Austria, in 2021. The experienced rider arrives with great ambition, having shown great progress in the last races, and is looking forward to arrive at Red Bull Ring to be at the front again and try to get his second podium with the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team. The latest results also allowed the team to move up positions in the teams’ standings and they are now third, twelve points behind the second.
José Antonio Rueda took his seventh victory in Brno to increase even more his gap in the standings. The Spanish rider now has 228 points and is 85 ahead of the second-placed rider, who is currently Ángel Piqueras. The most exciting part of the standings is the fight for the top 3: Álvaro Carpe is third with 133 points, but he is closely followed by CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider Máximo Quiles in fourth place with 126 points. In fifth place, David Muñoz is only three points behind Quiles. Joel Kelso dropped to sixth place when he was unable to compete in the last round due to injury. The other half of the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team, Dennis Foggia, is also in the top 10, in ninth position. Of all these names, only Muñoz and Foggia know what it's like to stand on the podium in Austria, so the Moto3 race promises to be an exciting one.
Máximo Quiles: “I love the Austrian circuit, and I know I'm going to really enjoy this weekend. We left Brno happy with our progress, although eager for more, which will help us tackle the Austrian race. We're well rested and looking forward to fight for the top positions again. We're going to work on our pace, continue learning, and I'm sure the good results will keep coming.”
Dennis Foggia: “These past few weeks I've been trying to recharge my batteries after the two double-headers. We made great progress in the last races, we were competitive and even fought to be on the podium again. I really like Austria and I've had a podium there before. It's important that we continue working where we left off before the summer break to be back at the front this weekend.”
