CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Riders travel eastbound

Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia begin the final phase of the season with the Japanese Grand Prix

The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team faces the final stretch of the season and travels to Asia to compete in the next rounds of the calendar. Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia will face four races outside Europe, the first of which will be in Japan. The Spaniard will be facing completely unknown territory, a situation that will not be the same for the Italian, who finished second at Motegi in his last season in Moto3 in 2022. Quiles' podium finish at the San Marino Grand Prix was a morale boost for the rookie, who was able to stand up to the world championship leader until the last corner. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider remains third in the overall standings, 107 points behind José Antonio Rueda, despite having competed in four races less than his rivals. His seven podium finishes, including two victories, have made him one of the standout riders of the season despite his limited experience in the competition, something he wants to continue to demonstrate in Japan. His teammate Dennis Foggia had a bittersweet finish at Misano. The Italian, who is twelfth in the standings with 84 points, did not feel good in front of his fans and was only able to cross the finish line in thirteenth position. Foggia wants to take advantage of his experience at Motegi to return to winning ways at a very special circuit for the CFMOTO Aspar Team, after David Alonso was crowned world champion at Motegi last year.

The Misano World Circuit once again saw leader José Antonio Rueda win in Moto3. The Spaniard now has eight wins and, with a 78-point lead over the second-placed rider, he already has half the title in the bag with 150 points still up for grabs. Six races, six finals for the World Championship leader, who last year only managed to score 39 points in the four flyaway races that lie ahead, an average that he will need to improve on to avoid arriving in Europe with the title still undecided. Behind them, Quiles completes the top three, 29 points off second place. David Muñoz remains fourth, although after the results of the San Marino Grand Prix he has distanced himself from the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar team rider and is now 16 points behind. Álvaro Carpe remains in fifth place, with 33 points less than Quiles in the rookie standings.

Máximo Quiles: “I think I'm really going to enjoy these next four races. I'm very excited to go to Japan and start discovering these circuits, as they will all be new to me. Motegi, for example, is a circuit with very aggressive braking. It will be fun.”

Dennis Foggia: “Motegi is a circuit that I really like. The last time I competed in Moto3 there, I managed to get on the podium, in second place. I hope to be back on the podium and be competitive again after a difficult race in Misano.”
