PORTIMAO TEST

CFMOTO Aspar Team kicks off 2025 with dry and wet sessions in Portimao

Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia put together 182 laps in two days with very different track conditions

The CFMOTO Aspar Team, current Moto3 team champion, has kicked off the 2025 season with two days of testing in both dry and wet conditions at the Autodromo do Algarve (Portugal). Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia, the two new members of the team in the lightweight category, started the test on Monday with sunshine and good weather conditions, which allowed them to put together 124 laps between them.

However, the rain has altered the plans on this second and last day of training in Portugal. Of a total of 25 riders present in Portimao, only ten of them have taken part in the tests on a track that has been getting wet and dry on several occasions throughout the day. Quiles has only completed 14 laps, while Italian Foggia has continued to work on his adaptation to the CFMOTO and has added 44 more laps on the Moto3. The CFMOTO Aspar Team now heads to Jerez, where next week it will complete the last three days of testing before the season opener in Thailand.

Máximo Quiles 1:46.346 (80 laps): "These two days of testing have been very positive for us. We have had the opportunity to ride in dry and wet conditions and I have felt very comfortable in both. On the first day the pace was good and we were able to get a lot of information for the Jerez test. In the second day we took the opportunity to gain experience in wet  conditions as well. In general, I have had a good feeling.  Now it's time to keep improving in Jerez next week."

Dennis Foggia 1:47.614 (102 laps): “Overall it was a very positive test, I learned a lot. Remembering movements and automatisms has not been easy after two years on the Moto2. We have tried a lot of things, we have a lot of data, and we know where we have to work, I know what I have to do.”
