Autosolar GASGAS Aspar scores its first points of the season

Ryusei Yamanaka finished ninth in a wet race, while David Alonso scored his first two points after finishing fourteenth

After a weekend in which the Moto3 riders have rode most of the sessions in dry conditions, the rain has appeared at the Autódromo de Termas de Río Hondo and the race has been disputed on a wet track. Tatsuki Suzuki has beaten his rivals and has crossed the finish line with a gap of more than four seconds over Diogo Moreira, who repeats on the podium for the second race in a row, and Andrea Migno, who has successfully replaced Lorenzo Fellon, injured after the first Grand Prix of the season. With the thirteen points scored in Argentina, Daniel Holgado remains leader in the overall standings, two points ahead of Brazilian Diogo Moreira.

Autosolar GASGAS Aspar has scored its first points of the season after an exciting race in Argentina. Ryusei Yamanaka, who has started from eighteenth place, has managed to come back and has finished the race in ninth position. With this result, the Japanese rider has scored his first seven points of the season and has reaffirmed his improvement with the new bike. His teammate David Alonso has scored his first two points as a World Championship rider after crossing the chequered flag in fourteenth position. The Colombian rider, despite not feeling the best in a wet track, has completed the race and has gained experience in this type of conditions, something he will try to take advantage of in the following races.

9th Ryusei Yamanaka (+12.884): “The race was held in wet conditions and at the beginning I wasn't very confident. Lap after lap I felt better and I was able to push a bit harder. I reached the front group and finished in the top 10. In this type of race, it's important to finish, and finishing in the top ten is quite positive. We'll keep working on this line for Austin and I'll try to keep showing my potential.”

14th David Alonso (+27.524): “The important thing is that we have finished the race and we haven’t crashed despite the rainy conditions. We have taken the first two points of the World Championship after a good start, but then I fell behind because I wasn't confident enough in the wet to go as fast as the front riders. I stayed in the group up to tenth place, but then they started to push and I was left behind. At the end of the race, I was just thinking about finishing. We start from this base in the water and we will try to improve our riding in these conditions.”
