JEREZ TEST

Alonso and the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar team close pre-season on front positions

The Colombian rider, after being fastest in the first two days, has finished the tests with the second fastest time

The small category has completed three days of testing at the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto which have been very positive for the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team. After leading the first two days of testing, David Alonso has finished these days  with the second fastest time, just 233 thousandths off José Antonio Rueda, the only rider who has been faster than Alonso in the whole preseason. The young Colombian rider has completed a total of 50 laps today and closes the pre-season very satisfied with the work done.

On the other side of the garage, Joel Esteban continues his learning process on the CFMOTO. The Spanish  has completed three very positive days of testing in which he has significantly improved his lap times. On the last day, Esteban has set a best time of 1:45.146 after adding 55 more laps to the 135 he did in the previous days. The  CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar rider feelings are very positive before facing the challenge of making his debut in the Moto3 World Championship next weekend in Qatar.

2nd David Alonso 1:43.315 (+0.039, 161 laps): "It has been a very positive test. We have realised that there is a high level in Moto3 this year and if you fall asleep you go backwards. The positive thing is that we are at the top, we have always followed our line of work, we are well prepared, and we have understood many things about the bike. We have been competitive on a track that is not one of my favourites and where things have not been easy for me, because I have to improve in the fast corners. It was good to ride here and to do so many laps to keep growing as a rider."

18th Joel Esteban 1:45.146 (+1.870, 190 laps): "On the third day of testing we managed to be quicker with the new  tyre. Then, with the used tyre, we also improved our pace. We have worked a lot on the set-up of the bike and on my lines. I'm very happy after the three days of testing in Jerez and I feel ready for Qatar."
