His teammate Ryusei Yamanaka has had a difficult day in Qatar. In the afternoon, the Japanese rider has been able to improve his time from the first practice by more than two seconds on a track with more grip, but he has not felt completely comfortable on the bike. Yamanaka has closed the day with a time of 2:09.344, which has not allowed him to go further than twenty-fifth position, but tomorrow he will have a new chance to get a better time and go directly to Q2.

In the morning the circuit was a bit dirty, so I tried to ride carefully and save my best laps for the second practice. In the afternoon I have felt comfortable from the beginning and we have finished the day in provisional Q2 positions.”

25th Ryusei Yamanaka 2:09.344 (+2.550): “In the afternoon the track conditions have improved and, although I have got a better lap time, I haven't felt completely comfortable on the bike. The second practice has been difficult and I don't understand why I have had a better feeling in the first session. Tomorrow we have another chance and we will be prepared for it.”
