A dream Sunday for the CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team

Máximo Quiles achieves his first victory in Moto3 and Dennis Foggia takes the podium for the first time this season in a race decided by thousandths of a second

The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team finished the Italian Grand Prix in the best possible way. Máximo Quiles was the winner in Moto3 by just six thousandths of a second ahead of fellow rookie Álvaro Carpe. At just 17 years of age and with five races under his belt, Quiles climbed to the top of the podium at the Mugello circuit for the first time since becoming a World Championship rider, where he was joined by his teammate Dennis Foggia. The Italian achieved his first podium with the team after finishing third, 66 thousandths behind Quiles, following a great comeback.

The Moto3 race at the Italian Grand Prix promised to be a great spectacle. The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team riders, aware that it was important to get off to a good start at Mugello in order not to lose touch with the leading group, gave it their all in the extremely high temperatures expected on Sunday. Máximo Quiles, who lost a few positions in the early laps, quickly recovered to move up to the top three in the race. The rookie rider stood up to the more experienced riders in a race that unfolded with a very large group. The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider constantly changed positions, but he knew how to manage the different moments of the race perfectly. In the final laps, Quiles remained in the leading positions, looking for the perfect moment to fight for his long-awaited first victory. On the last lap, the Spaniard took the lead and entered the home straight, pushing hard to secure his first world championship victory by just a few thousandths of a second. Dennis Foggia also completed his best race of 2025. The Italian fell slightly behind in the early laps and was out of the points, but the CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider surprised everyone by climbing back up to fourth place after setting the fastest lap. From that moment on, Foggia became a strong contender for victory, leading the race and battling with his teammate for the top positions. The veteran rider drew on all his experience and showed great riding skills until the end. In a memorable final lap, Foggia crossed the finish line in third place to secure his first podium since the 2022 Thai Grand Prix, which is also his first with the CFMOTO Aspar Team in his year of return to the lightweight category.

WINNER Máximo Quiles: “I'm super happy to have achieved my first victory. It was the most difficult race of my life. I think it's one of the most difficult circuits to manage in the world championship and I did pretty well. There were moments when I needed to be more aggressive and I knew that my moment was in the last two laps. In the last corner, I decided to go for it and get a good start on the straight. I knew that if they passed me, it would be by the smallest of margins, but I stayed positive and kept thinking, ‘they won't pass me, they won't pass me’. I felt very comfortable, I fought as if I had been here for many years. After coming so close to victory in the last races, I wasn't going to let this one get away. I could see the finish line getting closer and closer and I couldn't believe it. It was a dream to see the chequered flag in front of me.”

3rd Dennis Foggia (+0.066): “It's been a lot of sleepless nights. I want to dedicate this podium to all the people who didn't let me give up. I'm very happy, it's been a difficult few years, but both the team and I have worked hard to achieve this. We've changed a few things that have allowed me to improve and I've been able to reach my full potential. This race has silenced some critics. It hasn't been easy because the bike is different, the tyres... I had a ‘déjà vu’ of what happened in 2021. The goal was to finish first, but I was overtaken and at the end of the race I wasn't as fast. Even so, I'm very happy with the result. We were a large group and being on the podium is like a victory.”
