The Asterius GASGAS Aspar rider has not had the best feelings on a day in which Izan Guevara has finished 26th
On the first day for the Moto2 riders at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Ai Ogura has shown that he is in great shape. After a podium finish in Austria and starting the race from the front row, the Japanese rider has returned to action as the fastest rider in the first practice sessions on the Catalan track. Pedro Acosta, who has not been able to improve his lap time in the afternoon, has ended just two thousandths off the Japanese. Another rider who has also suffered with the increase of the track temperature in the second session has been Alonso López, who has closed the top 3. Further back, in eleventh place, has finished Tony Arbolino, who has ended almost half a second off the fastest rider and will try to improve tomorrow to prevent Pedro Acosta from getting away in the overall standings.
Asterius GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon has finished the first day in Barcelona in the top 10. The British has not found the best feeling at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya but, together with his team, will try to get a better set-up for tomorrow with the aim of achieving a good grid position. His Asterius GASGAS Aspar teammate, Izan Guevara, has not started the weekend as he expected. The Spanish rider, who has struggled with the brakes and the rear tyre, has not felt comfortable on the bike. Nevertheless, Guevara will try harder tomorrow to find the way forward.
10th Jake Dixon 1:45.235 (+0.431): “It's been a difficult first day. I also don't feel the best anyway. Not much to say, we have to try to improve tomorrow to try and get a better feeling.”
26th Izan Guevara 1:46.570 (+1.766): “It has not been a good first day. I have had problems with the brakes and the rear tyre. The track conditions in the second practice session have been difficult, but it's not an excuse. We will analyse what we can improve for tomorrow and we will try again.”
