Izan Guevara, recovered from his injury, will make his Moto2 debut at Austin, the circuit where Jake Dixon took his first podium in the category. Both will compete with the support of Asterius as main sponsor
The Asterius GASGAS Aspar riders arrive at a track where they have special memories. Last season, Jake Dixon took his first Moto2 podium at the Circuit of the Americas and since then he hasn't stopped growing. The British got his seventh podium in the intermediate category in Argentina and hopes to continue with his good dynamic to fight for his first victory. Izan Guevara has been able to recover in time for the third Grand Prix of the year and will debut in the intermediate category at the circuit where he took his first World Championship win. It was in 2021, when the Spanish rider was in his debut season in Moto3. After a crazy race with two red flags, Guevara jumped on the first step of the podium for the first time in a category he would end up winning the following year. Now in 2023, the Spanish rider is looking forward to his debut in the Moto2 World Championship and hopes to make up for lost time after missing the races in Portugal and Argentina.
Jake Dixon: “I want to take it race by race; it is a long season. We don't have set any expectations. After spending some time with my family and resetting my mind, we come back stronger for this Grand Prix.”
Izan Guevara: “I'm finally coming back. With the injury it was very uncomfortable for me to ride and in the end, it was necessary to undergo surgery. I arrive in Austin with enthusiasm after two these races in which I couldn’t take part, but the recovery has gone well and we have been able to return as soon as possible. We are not 100% ready for our debut in Moto2, but we will try to improve our sensations every day.”
