RCB GASGAS Aspar starts the last triple-header before the end of the season

Jake Dixon faces the final part of the championship with the aim of consolidate his third place in the standings. Izan Guevara wants to confirm his step forward

Pedro Acosta has everything in his hands to become world champion in Malaysia. If the Spanish finishes the race in the top four, he will achieve the goal for which he has been fighting since the beginning of the season without depending on other riders' results. Acosta has ended within those positions in 13 of the 17 races so far, but this weekend the Moto2 leader will need to manage his emotions in order not to make mistakes. In 2022, he could not finish the race in Malaysia, in a weekend in which Tony Arbolino, the only rider who can still dispute him the crown, took the victory. This year the situation is different, there is a title at stake, so Pedro Acosta will have to play his cards right to minimise mistakes and make the most of his advantage.

The RCB GASGAS Aspar starts the triple-header which will close the season with ambitious goals. Jake Dixon will be looking to consolidate his third place in the overall standings after missing out on points in Australia and Thailand due to crashes. With 75 points up for grabs, Dixon has already improved the 168.5 points he achieved in 2022, but he wants to keep fighting to finish the year in third place. His teammate Izan Guevara heads into the Sepang weekend in his best momentum of the season. The Spanish rider has finished two back-to-back races in the top 10 and he is confident that he can continue in the same line at a circuit where he competed last year with the Moto3 title under his arm. Guevara has now three consecutive Grands Prix to consolidate his step forward and prove that he can fight for big goals in Moto2 in 2024.

Jake Dixon: “The last two races didn't end as we wanted and after finishing fourth in Indonesia, I couldn't score any points in Australia or Thailand. We are third in the standings, but the gap is closing and there are still three important races to go. I'm not in my best shape for Malaysia, but this won't stop me and I'll keep fighting until the last lap.”

Izan Guevara: “We are looking forward to the Malaysian GP after finishing two back-to-back races in top 10, one in the dry and one in the wet. I like the Sepang circuit, last year I couldn't fight for victory due to another rider’s mistake, but I felt comfortable riding there. We will try to finish in top 10 again and get direct access to Q2. We want to keep improving and we are going to insist on it.”
