Jake Dixon ends 20 thousandths off the front row

The British will start from fourth position in his last race with the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team

Aron Canet has achieved the last Moto2 pole of the season. The Spanish, who had led all the practice sessions at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya, was the clear favourite to take pole and he has not failed. Canet has taken his sixth pole of the season after setting a time of 1:42.003. With this register, he has ended one tenth ahead of Manu González, who will start from second place, and two ahead of Zonta van den Goorbergh, who will complete the front row of the grid. Right behind him will start the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon. The British has been among the fastest all weekend and has managed to get straight into Q2. In qualifying, Dixon has ridden alone and has gradually improved his time until, in this penultimate attempt, he has completed a lap in 1:42.235, with which he has ended two tenths off Canet’s pole and just 20 thousandths off the front row. Tomorrow, the British says goodbye to the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team and will fight to do so from the podium.

His teammate Izan Guevara will start his last race with the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team from twenty-third position on the grid. The Spanish has been unable to improve his time from yesterday in the last practice session, so he has had to compete in Q1. In that session, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has set the ninth best time and has finished three tenths off getting into Q2. Guevara will fight tomorrow to recover from the eighth row of the grid to try to finish the season in the points zone.

Valencia and its citizens are experiencing one of the most challenging moments in recent history. The surrounding areas of the city are facing a severe climate emergency due to intense rainfall and flash floods. Thousands of families have lost their homes, businesses, and access to basic services like drinking water, electricity, and safe shelter. At Aspar Team, in collaboration with GoFundMe, we have launched this campaign to support those affected, providing immediate aid and hope to those most in need. Every donation is backed by our guarantee, ensuring that funds go directly to those impacted by this crisis.

4th Jake Dixon 1:42.235: “It’s been a great weekend. I’m enjoying myself, I’m riding well and the bike is going very well. We had a great qualifying, I have done everything alone today and I’m really happy for that. I am really looking forward to tomorrow, the last race with the team is going to be special.”

23rd Izan Guevara 1:43.304: “It is not been an easy GP. I am giving my all, but I am not comfortable on the bike. I am struggling a lot with the front. Tomorrow, we have to fight with what we have and we will try to do the best race possible. We start from very far back, let’s see how far we can go.”
