SAN MARINO GP

Jake Dixon comes into Misano on a high

The British rider gets closer to the leader, now within 44 points, after his second win in four races

Just a few days after the Catalan Grand Prix, Pedro Acosta faces a new challenge with a bigger advantage over Italian Tony Arbolino, who couldn't score points for the first time in 2023 at the last race. After the summer break, the Spanish rider has taken 46 points, 30 more than his main rival, what allowed him to take the lead after the race in Silverstone. Neither of them can relax as, after his victory in Barcelona, Inde GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon is 22 points off second place and 44 points off the leader, with 225 points still to go. The World Championship heads into its final race in Europe this weekend before travelling to Asia and Oceania, where the Moto2 riders will compete in seven different countries until mid-November. The championship is wide open and everything can happen.

Inde GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon heads the San Marino Grand Prix on a high. The British rider is in an excellent shape after taking two victories in the last four races. Dixon knows that he can fight for wins on every circuit and at Misano he will be looking to keep closing the gap to the two strongest riders in the category. Dixon is already close to the second place, but his winning mentality makes him have no limits and he will keep fighting to be as high as possible in the overall standings. His Inde GASGAS Aspar teammate, Izan Guevara, returns to the track where, in 2022, became the leader in Moto3, a first position that nobody could challenge and with which he ended up winning the world title. The Spanish rider is now in a process of adaptation to the intermediate category and will try to continue taking steps forward in Misano, where he hopes to find the way to feel comfortable and to enjoy riding the bike.

Jake Dixon: “The win in Barcelona is the result of all the hard work we are doing. The dream keeps on and in Misano we will push again because we want to keep growing and fighting with Acosta and Arbolino.”

Izan Guevara: “After a difficult weekend in Barcelona, we are looking forward to Misano. We will keep working to get back to the position we should be in. We took useful information from the previous Grand Prix and we will try to make a step forward this weekend.”
