The British rider, as in Argentina, has finished again near the front row positions. Izan Guevara will start his first Moto2 race from 27th place
The third Grand Prix of the season for the Moto2 riders will start with Celestino Vietti at the front of the grid. The Italian has taken the pole position with a time of 2:09.432, slower than Filip Salac's time in the last practice session. Vietti will start tomorrow ahead of Pedro Acosta, who will be looking for his second win this year, and the Czech rider, who completes the front row of the grid.
Jake Dixon has come close to pole position again at the Circuit of the Americas. The British, as he did in Argentina, has completed a lap that was just a few tenths of a second off the fastest time. Tomorrow, Dixon will start from sixth position and will try to repeat his feat from last year in Austin, when he got his first podium in the category after starting from sixth place. Izan Guevara has enjoyed his second day as a Moto2 rider with positive feelings. The Asterius GASGAS Aspar rider will start his first race in the intermediate category from 27th. Tomorrow, Guevara hopes to continue to gather information about the bike and continue his work to improve his feeling, after not having been able to make a preseason in full conditions. The Spanish rider has so far made the most of every available session to gradually come closer to the leading riders, closing the gap by more than 2,5 seconds.
6th Jake Dixon 2:09.752 (+0.320): “I'm annoyed after the qualifying session, I was hoping for more, we started the weekend very well, but we seem to have lost our way. We didn't have a good feeling with the bike and it was difficult to ride like that, but we will try to improve it with the team. We have less time to work on the bike and the mixed conditions this morning didn't help, but I don't want to look for excuses. We gave everything we had and we'll see what happens tomorrow. We know what we have to improve, but we have to be precise in what we do. Tomorrow we will try to give everything we have and we will see what happens.”
27th Izan Guevara 2:11.873 (1.828): “The feeling has been good, every time we go out on track, we improve the times and that's positive. I feel good, I'm lacking a bit of strength, but we have to keep working in this way. Today we were just over two seconds off pole, which is not bad at all. Tomorrow, we face our first race in the World Championship with the aim of continuing to improve.”
