J Balvin and his well-known 'Rayo' team up to support Colombian CFMOTO Aspar Team rider David Alonso. In an exciting video shared by the driver on his Instagram profile, J Balvin surprises Alonso with a visit from his 'Rayo', a car named after the first vehicle the artist owned and with which the driver was able to race on track during his recent visit to Colombia. In that video call, the artist was also able to express to Alonso the pride that the driver represents for the South American country.

David Alonso and J Balvin share the same energy, the same Rayo. Especially since a few days ago, during his visit to Colombia to celebrate the recent Moto3 world champion title, the singer decided to surprise the rider with a special call, which marks the beginning of a historic endorsement in the Colombian motorcycling sport.

In a high-energy video call, the two Colombian stars expressed their admiration and respect for each other, before J Balvin surprised with a special gift for the young rider. “For me you know it's David 'El Rayo',” says Balvin in the video, before presenting him with his well-known Rayo, the chromed and upgraded car that makes allegory to the first one the artist had at the beginning of his career, and that illustrated the cover of his latest album -which receives the same name-, but in a tuned version.

The union between the two world figures for this new racing season is sealed with David Alonso putting his number 80 on Rayo's back, which he takes out to run on the track and then get on his bike, simulating an energy transfer that turns him into David 'el Rayo' Alonso.

The rider, who is coming off the back of being the Moto3 class world champion in 2024 and was third in 2023, has broken records set at the time by the likes of Valentino Rossi, taking fourteen wins in a single season. Alonso has the attention of many fans on him and will continue to be willing to keep breaking records and barriers in a category that will certainly not be easy, but in which he will work to win the title.

The promise of motorcycling is ready for the Moto2 start this weekend at the Thailand Grand Prix, a real challenge for David Alonso, who has left the name of Colombia and Spain on high, being the first Colombian rider to win a World Motorcycling Championship and the second rider from Madrid to do so.

David Alonso: “I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to compete in the World Motorcycle Championship. Somehow, thanks to this I have been able to meet an extraordinary character like J Balvin, something that probably would have been impossible otherwise. And it's been incredible to be able to collaborate on a small project with a legend of Latin and world music.

J Balvin: “As Colombians and Latinos, it is a source of pride to see a young exponent like David shining in the big leagues of world motorcycling. This is a detail for Rayo to inspire him, just as he inspired me. All the energy for him to break it in Moto2! Latino Gang!”
