Indonesia proves unforgiving for CFMOTO Power Electronics Aspar

Dani Holgado and David Alonso were unable to finish the race after suffering crashes just one lap apart

The Indonesian Grand Prix proved to be a major challenge for riders in the intermediate category. The extreme conditions tested the physical fitness of the participants in a race that saw numerous crashes. Diogo Moreira secured a comfortable victory, finishing almost five seconds ahead of championship leader Manu González in second place, while Izan Guevara was third. The Brazilian's third victory means he goes into the next round less than 30 points behind in the championship battle.

The race at the Mandalika circuit ended earlier than expected for CFMOTO Power Electronics Aspar. David Alonso and Dani Holgado made a great start, moving into the top positions and trying to keep up with the high pace set by the fastest riders. Unfortunately, David Alonso suffered a heavy crash while in fifth position with just five laps completed. Barely a lap later, Holgado also crashed in the last corner while riding in second position behind Moreira. Despite the heavy impacts, both riders are physically fine.

Dani Holgado (crash): “We weren't able to finish the weekend the way we wanted to. I made a small mistake that prevented me from fighting for something more, even for the podium. I had the feeling that I stepped on something, like a tear-off, but I'm not sure. It was strange and happened very quickly. Although I'm angry now, this Sunday has also been a learning experience and will help me grow and continue to improve in the future. I'm taking it in the best possible way, facing it responsibly and determined not to make the same mistake again. Now it's time to wipe the slate clean in my head and come back stronger than ever in Australia.”

David Alonso (crash): “Today's race was short-lived. In the first laps I tried to be a bit more active and felt better when braking. I was struggling to keep up with the riders in front and was pushing myself to the limit. I opened up the throttle a bit more and crashed. Fortunately, I'm fine and nothing happened to me.”
