SAN MARINO GP

Inde GASGAS Aspar scores four points at Misano

Jake Dixon has finished twelfth in a difficult race in which Izan Guevara has not finished due to an incident on the last lap

Moto2 World Championship leader, Pedro Acosta, has taken his fifth win of the season at the San Marino Grand Prix. The Spanish rider has led all 22 laps of the race and, despite Celestino Vietti's attempts to catch him, has not reduced the pace and has achieved the victory with a gap of more than six seconds over the Italian rider. Alonso Lopez has completed the podium, a place where he had not been since the French Grand Prix. Just outside the top 3 has ended Tony Arbolino, who has been able to come back from ninth on the grid and save his home Grand Prix, although he is now 34 points behind Acosta.

Inde GASGAS Aspar has closed the San Marino Grand Prix with four points scored by Jake Dixon and a crash for Izan Guevara on the last lap, when he was fighting close to the points. Jake Dixon has finished in twelfth position after starting from the fifth row of the grid. Today's race has been a tough challenge for the British rider, but Dixon has not stopped fighting until the end and has been able to score four more points. His Inde GASGAS Aspar teammate, Izan Guevara, has not finished the race in Misano after an incident with Lukas Tulovic on the last lap. The Spanish rider has made a great start and has moved up three positions in the first lap. From there, Guevara has been focused on setting a good pace and fighting for the points, but some problems with the front part of the bike and the final incident have prevented him from reaching his goal. After undergoing a medical check-up, the results have ruled out injuries to his hand and ankle, the two parts where he has suffered the most in the crash.

12th Jake Dixon (+22.900): “It has been a difficult race and I don’t understand what has happened. The bike didn’t really feel the same after the crash. I gave everything I had. We just need to focus on the best job we can do now. It seems that championship is far away, so I don’t want to think about it. Today wasn’t good enough but we’ll work hard to be better.”

Izan Guevara (DNF): “I have had a good start of the race and I was feeling comfortable. As the laps went by, I have started to suffer with the front part of the bike. On the last lap I have overtaken Tulovic and we have had an incident when I had gained the position. It has been a big impact, but fortunately I'm okay. Now we have to think about recovering and giving our best in India.”
