Inde GASGAS Aspar riders with different goals in Japan

Jake Dixon will try to redeem himself after not being able to completing the race in India. Izan Guevara will aim to keep improving after scoring three points last weekend

The Moto2 World Championship is ready to race at the Japanese Grand Prix, the second stop of the flyaway races after the one in India. Pedro Acosta remains the leader and in Motegi he aims to extend his 39-points advantage over Tony Arbolino. Acosta travels to Japan after his sixth win of the year and will be looking to achieve three victories in a row for the first time this season. With less and less races to go, the Spanish rider is not going to slow down. If he can get the 25 points at Motegi, he could start to see the championship title getting closer and closer.

Inde GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon faces a new challenge, this time in Japan. Dixon looks forward to win again after not being able to fight for the victory in the last two Grands Prix. The British rider has always felt comfortable riding in Motegi and wants to compete again for big goals at the Japanese track, where in 2022 he finished fourth, four tenths off the podium, after starting from the front row. His teammate Izan Guevara returns to a circuit where last year he took a key win to achieve the Moto3 World Championship title later on. In that race, his first in Japan, Guevara moved up from ninth on the grid to take the victory. This year, the Spanish rider faces the weekend without the pressure he had in 2022 and with the objective of keeping on improving. Guevara arrives to Motegi after a weekend in which he scored points again and is confident that the Indian GP will be a turning point to start fighting for points in every race until the end of the season.

Jake Dixon: “Motegi is one of my favourite tracks. I love Japan and its culture. It will probably be less hot than in India and that will help us. I'm looking forward to race there. We arrive to Japan having reset our minds and we are looking forward to completing a good weekend. Last year I was very fast there and I think I can do even better this season.”

Izan Guevara: “We took a solid win in Japan last year. We will see how it goes in this category. It’s a track that is good for us and we expect it to be the same in Moto2. We are working in a good line and I am confident that we will keep improving. Little by little we are getting there.”
