The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider rode a great race in Argentina and finished in ninth position
The Grand Prix of Argentina came to an end on Sunday for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders. Dani Holgado and David Alonso had to deal with very changeable conditions throughout the weekend and faced the race with determination after all the progress made in Termas. Holgado continues to show great progress day by day. The Spanish rider started the race from the fifth row of the grid and made a good start that allowed him to move up positions from the first laps. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider maintained a good pace and focused on not making any mistakes to stay in the top ten, remaining as the best rookie in the intermediate category. After several position changes, Holgado took a strong ninth place in a race in which former CFMOTO Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon took the win. Manu González and Celestino Vietti completed the podium at Termas de Río Hondo.
Colombian rider David Alonso did not finish the Argentina Grand Prix as expected. After a weekend in which he made a big step forward and managed to get a better understanding of riding the Moto2 bike, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider went into Sunday's race ready to move up positions from the start. Alonso, on the other hand, did not feel comfortable on his bike and struggled with his riding, which was also conditioned by tyre wear. The Colombian rider didn't give up and kept on trying to keep the gap with his rivals, crossing the line in twentieth place.
9th Dani Holgado (+19.035): “I'm very happy for this second race and to finish in the top 10 again. It was another goal achieved, I finished the race, I enjoyed it and I continued learning. We have achieved a good result which is something to be very happy about. I'm leaving Argentina with a good taste in my mouth and I'm looking forward to more. We have to keep working like this because everything will come.”
20th David Alonso (+29.518): “All the good feeling I had this weekend I couldn’t find it in the race and there are things that didn't happen in the rest of the sessions. I couldn't brake hard because I was going off the back and when I accelerated I stayed in place. I tried, I tried to stay on the pace during all the laps and to make sure that the riders in front of me didn't go away.”
