PORTIMAO TEST

Holgado and Alonso warm up with first test of 2025 at Portimao

CFMOTO Aspar Team riders complete a positive test in their first season in Moto2

The 2025 season has already started for the CFMOTO Aspar Team, which completed two days of testing at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (Portugal). Dani Holgado and David Alonso, both Moto2 rookies, have gone from strength to strength in two days of work focused on adapting to the new category. The good weather conditions have allowed them to make the most of these days, with 219 laps between them.

Despite the first day starting later than expected due to the track conditions, the CFMOTO Aspar Team riders have shown their adaptation on the Moto2. Dani Holgado has made good progress, being one of the fastest rookies on the second day. With a total of 131 laps completed, he leaves Portugal with a good taste in his mouth after the work he has done. David Alonso, who has completed 88 laps, has focused on improving his feeling. The reigning Moto3 World Champion has lowered his lap times compared to the first day, lapping in similar times to the rest of the rookies. The next stop for the CFMOTO Aspar Team Moto2 riders will be the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto, where next week will be the last test before the start of the season with the Thai Grand Prix.

Dani Holgado 1:42.502 (173 laps): ‘These two days of work in Portimao have been very intense, with a lot of laps, but I'm very happy with the work we've done. We have improved our feeling and confidence, which was essential to continue adapting to the Moto2 bike. Now it's time to rest for a couple of days to get to the last three days of preseason in Jerez in good shape. Thank you very much to the team for the amazing work, see you soon!’

David Alonso 1:42.874 (88 laps): ‘We have completed the first test of the year. The first day we couldn't do many laps, but the second day was very solid, with more than 80 laps. I have improved little by little and with patience, which is what I have lacked these last few days. We are on the way to keep growing, calmly and focusing only on ourselves and going lap by lap.’
