The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has finished in sixth position, just ahead of his teammate Jake Dixon
Moto2 already knows its 2024 champion. Ai Ogura has claimed the title in the intermediate category after finishing second at the Thai GP. The Japanese has started from pole, but he has dropped to sixth position in the first laps while his main rival Aron Canet has taken the lead to try to prevent the Japanese from winning the title, but he needed Ogura to finish outside the top 5. As the laps have gone by, Ogura has gradually regained positions until he has almost reached Canet. With three laps to go, it has started to rain in Buriram, which has caused Race Direction to stop the race and, as two thirds of the race had been completed, it has not been restarted. Canet has achieved his third win of the year, with Ogura second and Marcos Ramírez third.
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara has completed a great comeback in the Thai GP to achieve his best result of the season. The Spanish has started from eighteenth place and has gradually recovered positions until he has arrived to fourth. Guevara has given his all until the chequered flag and in the end, he has finished sixth. His teammate Jake Dixon has completed a great start in Buriram and has climbed up to third place in the first laps. However, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has not felt comfortable with the bike and has not been able to keep up with his rivals. The British has crossed the finish line in seventh position, just behind his teammate.
6th Izan Guevara (+6.405): “I have done the race I expected. We were lacking speed on one lap, but I have felt very comfortable with the race pace all weekend. We have gradually gained positions until we have finished sixth.”
7th Jake Dixon (+6.909): “It has been a disaster. I have done a great start and a great first lap and I got to the third position. However, today I have not felt comfortable with the bike. Normally, when I get to the front, I stay there, but today I have not been able to. I had zero grip. I am giving my best, but is going how is going.”
