CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has finished twenty-second in Portugal
After more than seventy races in Moto2 and at the start of his fifth season in the intermediate category, Aron Canet has taken his first victory in Moto2 today at the Portuguese Grand Prix. The Spanish rider had been on the podium 20 times before, but always on the second or third step. Today he has been the number one, taking advantage of the Alonso López’s crash when he was leading. Second has been Joe Roberts and third the man who has started from pole, Manu González, both more than two seconds off the winner. All this in a race in which one of the favourites, Fermín Aldeguer, has had to face a double long lap penalty after jumping the start. Aldeguer has dropped to thirteenth position but he has managed to climb up to fourth.
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara has finished the Portuguese Grand Prix in twenty-second position. The Spanish, the sole team's representative in Portugal after Jake Dixon's DNS, has had a difficult weekend, with little time on track during practice, which prevented him from having more information for the race. Today, Guevara has not been comfortable and, on a circuit that does not suit his riding style, he has struggled to make progress. He is now looking forward to the next race in the Circuit of the Americas, where he hopes to take a step forward.
22nd Izan Guevara (+41.234): "It has been a very difficult weekend since Friday. Portimao is not a circuit I like; it doesn't suit my style. It has been a very difficult race where I struggled a lot, I have not been comfortable. I have to turn the page and I'm already looking forward to Austin."
