The Spanish rider has finished thirteenth in a weekend in which Dixon has missed out on his fifth podium finish

Celestino Vietti had not been on the top step of the podium for more than a year. Today, in Austria, the Italian has tasted the victory again after fighting with the leader of the category, Pedro Acosta. The Spanish rider, who has started from pole position, has not taken long to get away, although he has never been able to achieve a lead of more than one second. Acosta has nearly crashed at the end of the race and Vietti has taken advantage of this to cross the finish line more than a second ahead of the Spanish. Ai Ogura has completed the podium after fighting with the Tensite GASGAS Aspar rider, Jake Dixon, at the beginning of the race. The Japanese has finished with the British very close, less than a second behind. With these results, Acosta, who arrived in Austria with a two-point lead over Tony Arbolino, has increased the gap between them to twelve, after a difficult weekend for the Italian rider, who could not finish higher than sixth place.

Tensite GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon has closed the Austrian Grand Prix with a fourth position. The British rider has had one of his best starts, moving up to second place. However, an exchange of positions with Ai Ogura and some problems with the front tyre have prevented him from catching Acosta and fighting for the victory. Dixon knows he is in good shape and will keep fighting race by race to give more joy to the team. His teammate Izan Guevara has closed a positive weekend in which he has scored his first points in the category. The Spanish rider had spent the night with fever and sickness, but he has decided to go out on track to fight for his goal. Despite the difficulties, Guevara has managed to finish the race and close the Austrian Grand Prix with his first three points. After this weekend, the current Moto3 World Champion hopes to continue with his progress in Barcelona, one of his favourite tracks.

4th Jake Dixon (+6.145): “I knew it was going to be a difficult hot race. I'm really happy with the way I have started because I was struggling in that aspect. I have tried to stay on top, but I have had some problems with the front tyre and I have focused on riding consistently. They have got away from me a little bit, but I have been able to close the gap by two seconds. We will keep working session by session, race by race and lap by lap. I really enjoy working with this team. I feel I am in a good moment and we will come back stronger.”

13th Izan Guevara (+40.213): “I had a high fever before the race. I have just held on as well as I could. It has been a positive weekend and we have been able to score our first points in the category. Now we have to think about Barcelona and keep improving.”
