Dixon will fight to come back in Portugal

The Inde GASGAS Aspar rider will start from twelfth position in a Grand Prix that Jordi Torres will use to prepare the MotoE World Championship

Czech rider Filip Salac has got the first pole position of the year and the second of his professional career in Moto2 today. The qualifying practice in the intermediate category has been very tight, with eight riders in less than a second. Among all of them, Salac has been fastest, with a time of 1:42.323, a mark that only Aron Canet, second today, has been able to get close to. Pedro Acosta, who was fastest on the opening day of the Portuguese Grand Prix, will close the front row of the grid tomorrow. Celestino Vietti, Manuel Gonzalez and Jeremy Alcoba will be on the second row for the first race of the season, which will start at 12:00 (local time).

Inde GASGAS Aspar Team has completed its first qualifying practice of the season today. Jake Dixon, who had been one of the fastest riders so far and had finished free practice in eighth position, four tenths off the fastest time, will start from twelfth position in tomorrow's race. The British rider had set the fifth fastest time of the session, but has seen his time cancelled by the organisation due to the presence of yellow flags in the last sector of the track due to another rider's crash. Without that lap time, Dixon could only manage twelfth position, from where he hopes to be able to come back and fight with the front group. His teammate Jordi Torres has continued his adaptation to the Moto2 bike with two more sessions, in which he has gradually reduced the gap with the front riders. The Spanish rider has enjoyed his time on the Kalex again and continues adding kilometres and experience that he will try to take advantage of before the start of the MotoE World Championship.

12th Jake Dixon 1:43.062 (+0.739): "On the first run I felt really good and I was under my best time of the weekend. I came into the box to change the rear tyre, because I knew I still had margin to improve. However, with the second tyre it wasn't the same. I managed to set a time that put me fifth on the grid, but they cancelled my lap due to the crash of another rider and the yellow flags on the track. It's not the ideal situation, but tomorrow we'll fight again."

26th Jordi Torres 1:45.632 (+2.667): "I feel that it was a very productive day. Yesterday I struggled to understand the bike, but today we have tried to make some modifications to make my riding more comfortable. Every time we go out on track, we get more information, but we'll have to keep working on it."
