The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider will start from the third row after achieving one of his best qualifying positions of the year
Fermín Aldeguer has been the fastest rider in the Dutch GP qualifying. The Spanish, who had already led yesterday, has set a time of 1:35.269 which is enough to get his second pole position of the season. Aldeguer has competed for the first position on the grid with Japanese Ai Ogura and the World Championship leader Sergio García. In the end, it has been Aldeguer who, in his last attempt of the session, has achieved the best time beating Ogura by two tenths and García by three.
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon will start from the third row of the grid in Assen. The British has got straight to Q2 and in qualifying he has set the ninth best time, seven tenths off Aldeguer's pole position. Ninth place is one of Dixon's best qualifying results this season, only worse than the front row of Jerez. His teammate Izan Guevara will start from eighteenth position tomorrow. The Spanish rider has taken a step forward compared to yesterday and has managed to overcome Q1. However, in Q2 he has been unable to set a time because on his first attempt he has crashed after losing the front of his motorcycle. Guevara will have to make a comeback tomorrow from the sixth row of the grid and is confident of scoring points again.
9th Jake Dixon 1:35.983 (+0.714): “We have worked a lot on various aspects today. I am happy to start from the third row, although I am still not where I would like. I feel better with race pace than looking for a fast lap. In general, it has been a positive day and we continue working to improve every weekend.”
18th Izan Guevara (no time): “I have managed to get through Q1 and I am happy because I have ridden alone. In Q2, I have made a mistake by working too much on the front wheel and I have crashed on the first lap when I have lost the front. We will start from eighteenth, but at least we know where the problem is. Tomorrow it will be difficult to reach the leading positions, but I have a good pace and I will fight to have a great race and finish in the points zone.”
