FRENCH GP

Dixon to start from third row

The British rider will kick off the French Grand Prix from eighth position. Izan Guevara will begin 24th

Sam Lowes has achieved his second consecutive pole position at the French Grand Prix. The British rider, who was already fastest in yesterday's practice, has beaten the track record held by Pedro Acosta by twelve thousandths of a second and will start the race from pole position. Alonso Lopez and Tony Arbolino have finished two tenths of a second off the British rider's time and will start ahead of Pedro Acosta, who has finished fifth.

The Inde GASGAS Aspar riders have not been able to put their speed into better grid positions. Jake Dixon has not found a good feeling with the front end of the bike and will start tomorrow from eighth position. Despite not being his best day, Dixon has ended less than two tenths of a second off the front row. The British rider, together with his technical team, will try to improve the set-up of the bike to complete tomorrow's race with a positive result. Izan Guevara will start the French Grand Prix from 24th place. In the last practice, the Inde GASGAS Aspar rider has tested the Moto2 bike in the wet for the first time and has had a good feeling. In qualifying, the Spanish rider continued fighting for a place on the eighth row of the grid.

8th Jake Dixon 1:36.225 (+0.434): “We didn't complete any laps this morning because of the wet track conditions. This afternoon we tried to improve the bike, but I'm still having the same problems with the front end. Tomorrow we'll start further back than we would like, but we'll see what the race has in store for us.”

24th Izan Guevara 1:37.879: “In the last practice session we tried the Moto2 for the first time in the wet and it went well. Already in the qualifying we tried to make some modifications to the front of the bike, but it was worse. It had a lot of movement and we couldn't improve. We'll see tomorrow if we can gain some positions in the race.”
