The British rider has led both sessions of the day and has ended less than three tenths of a second off the track record. Izan Guevara has completed his best Friday to finish 19th
On the first day of action at Assen, Inde GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon has shown that he has arrived to the Netherlands aiming to fight for top results. The British has been fastest in both practice sessions and has ended Friday in first position for the first time this year. In the second session, riders such as Pedro Acosta, Alonso Lopez, Ogura and Sam Lowes have improved his time on several occasions. However, the British rider has managed to beat them again with a time of 1:36.462, less than three tenths of a second off the track record. After Silverstone, Assen is the circuit that the Inde GASGAS Aspar Team rider knows most from his time in the British Superbike Championship, and the good feeling he gets from it already helped him to finish third on Friday last year. This time, he starts the Dutch Grand Prix as the fastest rider and will try to continue in this line to fight for pole tomorrow.
His Inde GASGAS Aspar teammate Izan Guevara has completed his best Friday of the year after finishing in nineteenth position. The Spanish rider has found a better feeling with the front end of the bike and has managed to get closer to the fastest riders' times. Guevara has finished five tenths of a second off the positions that give provisional access to Q2 and will continue working tomorrow to keep up this consistency that little by little is taking him to the positions he deserves.
1st Jake Dixon 1:36.363: “It has been my best Friday of the year. We have had a good pace and I have felt good. There are a few things we need to improve for tomorrow, but the feeling is positive. If we can improve the bike, it will be easier to get a good laptime tomorrow. I hope to get a good grid position that makes my race easier. We'll see what happens.”
19th Izan Guevara 1:37.737 (+1.247): “We are finding the way. It was important to have a good feeling with the front and we have achieved it. We have to keep improving, but I'm happy with today. We'll see if it doesn't rain tomorrow and we can keep making progress.”
