The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has finished the first day in tenth position, six tenths off the fastest time
Moto2 is back at the Misano World Circuit – Marco Simoncelli to contest the Emilia – Romagna GP. This time, the weekend has started in a very different way, as the overnight rain has conditioned the first day on the Italian track. The first practice session has been held in wet conditions and, although the track has gradually been dried out, it has not been enough to put on dry tyres. In these conditions, Alonso López has led with a time of 1:39.682. In the afternoon, the track was completely dry, which has allowed the riders to significantly improve their times. Tony Arbolino has been the fastest, setting a time of 1:35.386. With this register, the Italian rider has finished three-tenths ahead of Aron Canet, who has been second, and four-tenths ahead Diogo Moreira, who has been third. The Moto2 leaders have started the Emilia-Romagna GP outside the top five. Ai Ogura has ended sixth, four-tenths off Arbolino, while Sergio García has only been able to finish fourteenth, seven-tenths off.
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon has finished the first day in Misano in tenth position. The British has felt comfortable in the wet and, in the morning session, he has set the fifth best time. However, in the afternoon session, Dixon has focused on working on his bike to find the best possible set-up for tomorrow. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider, who is in provisional Q2 positions, has ended satisfied with the work done today. His teammate Izan Guevara will have to step up tomorrow to enter Q2. The Spanish has concluded twenty-third, more than a second off the best time. Guevara has struggled to be competitive, especially on corner entry. Tomorrow, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider will have a new opportunity to improve his feelings and be able to lower his time in the last session before qualifying.
10th Jake Dixon 1:35.996 (+0.610): “It has been unfortunate that this morning the track was wet because we have not got to try what we wanted to with the bike. This afternoon we have focused on trying what we can do to improve the bike. We have tried two different bikes and we need to analyse everything tonight to see what we can bring tomorrow and try to put the best bike together for the last practice session and qualifying.”
23rd Izan Guevara 1:36.884 (+1.498): “We have a lot of work ahead of us. It wasn’t bad in the wet, but it has been harder in dry conditions. We are far away, because I am not one hundred percent as I have been sick for a week. We are struggling to find a good set-up that I am comfortable with, especially in the corner entry. We are still working to make a step forward tomorrow.”
