Dixon on the front row again

The Inde GASGAS Aspar rider will start again from third in the Japanese Grand Prix one year later. Guevara will begin from 19th after just missing out on Q2

Somkiat Chantra has been the fastest again at Motegi and has taken his first pole position of the season. The Thai rider is being the strongest of the weekend and has dominated all the sessions so far. Chantra has set a time of 1:49.898 and has broken the track record, so tomorrow he will be looking to turn his speed into a solid race in order to achieve his first win of the year. Ai Ogura, the local hero, will start from second after improving the Inde GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon's time on one of his final laps. The British rider has taken the third grid place and is back on the front row after the pole position he scored at the Indian Grand Prix. Pedro Acosta will lead the second row. The championship leader will start from fourth and will have a good opportunity to get away in the standings as his main rival Tony Arbolino will start from the thirteenth position.

One year later, Jake Dixon is back on the front row at the Japanese Grand Prix. The British rider will start tomorrow's race from third position after a weekend in which he has had to work hard to get a good bike set-up. Dixon has suffered a crash in the last practice and has had to participate in Q1 for the first time this season. The Inde GASGAS Aspar rider has overcome all these circumstances and has been able to recover and start tomorrow's race with options to fight for the victory. His teammate Izan Guevara will start from 19th place in the Japanese Grand Prix. The Spaniard has just missed out on Q2 by a tenth, but he feels strong to complete a good race tomorrow. The current Moto3 World Champion has been working during the weekend on his race pace and feels that he can fight for the points in one of his best weekends of the season.

3rd Jake Dixon 1:50.058: “It's great to get the third grid position after a difficult weekend. I have struggled a lot, I have crashed in the last practice and we hadn't been able to find a good set-up on the bike yet. I have worked a lot with the team to understand where we could improve and we have done it. It's still not at 100%, but we'll try to make it better for tomorrow.”

19th Izan Guevara 1:50.486: “I feel comfortable on the bike. My pace has been good and I'm happy with it. I have been working during the season to find a good feeling and little by little we are getting there. Tomorrow we'll start from nineteenth and we'll give our all.”
