Dixon just off the front row in Italy

The Autosolar GASGAS Aspar rider will start sixth the Italian Grand Prix, where Izan Guevara will close the eighth row of the grid

Aron Canet has taken back-to-back Italian GP pole positions, after a session in which he has missed the chequered flag due to a crash at the third corner of Mugello. Although the Spanish rider has not been able to complete the session, as he has had to go to the circuit's medical centre for a check-up after his accident, none of his rivals have been able to improve his lap time in the rest of the session. Pedro Acosta, the fastest in yesterday's and today's practice, has missed out on pole by 159 thousandths of a second, three less than the third placed, Sam Lowes. American rider Joe Roberts has achieved his best qualifying result of the season and will be fourth on a grid in which Filip Salac and Autosolar GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon will be fifth and sixth.

Eighty thousandths of a second separate Jake Dixon from the front row of the grid for the Italian Grand Prix. The Autosolar GASGAS Aspar rider, who has been third in the morning, has finished sixth in a qualifying session with ten riders within half a second of each other. Due to the equality of the category, any detail can penalize, and the absence of a good reference in his fast lap has prevented Dixon from opting for even more outstanding positions. Despite this, the British has managed to get a place on the second row of the grid, from where he hopes to continue fighting tomorrow, in a weekend with good feelings on his bike. His teammate Izan Guevara has achieved his best qualifying time of the season after finishing twenty-fourth. The Spanish rider keeps improving his feeling and his lap times, but he is still one second and a half off the fastest riders. Tomorrow, in the race which will start at 12:15 local time, he will close the eighth row of the grid with the aim of keeping up with the work he has done so far.

6th Jake Dixon 1:51.038: “It was a good qualifying session, although I lacked a reference to get a better lap. I'm happy with how the weekend is going so far. I feel good and ready for the race. I will give my best.”

24th Izan Guevara 1:52.280: “We found a good line to follow. I feel more comfortable, but we have to continue this way because we are still one second and a half off the fastest. We're still with the same gap, but we're getting better times. With hard work and persistence, we'll get there.”
