ARGENTINA GP

Dixon just 0.066 off the front row in Argentina

The Solunion GASGAS Aspar rider will start from fourth position after finishing one tenth off pole position. Jordi Torres will start 23rd

Alonso Lopez has taken pole position for the Grand Prix of Argentina, the second of his professional career. The Spanish rider has beaten the track record with a time of 1:42.472, in a very tight session in which Aron Canet and Somkiat Chantra, second and third, were also able to improve the circuit record, held by Fermín Aldeguer since 2022. The top five grid positions have been completed by Solunion GASGAS Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon and the winner of the first Grand Prix of the season, Pedro Acosta.

Jake Dixon has been close to the front row of the grid in Argentina, but in the end, he will have to settle with fourth position to start. The British rider had led part of the session, but his time of 1:42.586 was not enough to get to the front row. On the other hand, Jordi Torres will start his second race with the Solunion GASGAS Aspar Team from 23rd position. The Spanish rider has set the ninth fastest time in Q1, he has felt comfortable on the bike and tomorrow he will try to have a good race to continue collecting information and preparing himself for his main goal, the MotoE World Championship.

4th Jake Dixon 1:42.586 (+0.114): “My fastest lap was very good, but on one lap we haven't been the best this year. I felt the bike a bit different on my second run, but overall, the feeling was good. I wanted pole position and to start from the front row, but I'm ready to fight tomorrow.”

23rd Jordi Torres 1:44.204 (+1.732): “We keep working in the same direction and every time we have a better bike. We continue to understand how it works, but riding faster and faster. We would always like to take more risks, but we can't forget our main goal.”
