The Moto2 riders have started today the French Grand Prix, the fifth of a season that is being dominated by Pedro Acosta and Tony Arbolino. The Spanish rider has finished the first day of practice at Le Mans in second place, ahead of Sam Lowes, who won the last race in the intermediate category at Jerez, and who is in great shape. The British rider has stopped the clock at 1:36.178 at the end of the second session, a time five thousandths faster than Acosta and ninety-three thousandths better than Alonso Lopez, who closes the top 3. Behind them have finished Filip Salac, Celestino Vietti, Inde GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon and Tony Arbolino, who has ended the first day in seventh place.

Inde GASGAS Aspar has started to set its bases for the French Grand Prix today. Jake Dixon and Izan Guevara have completed the first practice with the aim of finding a good feeling and preparing for Sunday's race. In the afternoon, both riders have improved their times to finish the day with good results. Jake Dixon has finished sixth, three tenths off the time of Sam Lowes. Despite not being able to complete a better lap due to an incident in the second practice session, the British rider is happy with his performance. His teammate Izan Guevara has shown today that he continues improving in his adaptation to Moto2. The Spanish rider has closed a bit more the gap to the fastest riders in the championship and today he has finished just over a second off the top of the timesheets. Guevara is confident that he will continue making progress every session and tomorrow he will have another opportunity to show that he is getting closer.

6th Jake Dixon 1:36.514 (+0.336): “It was a good first day. In the morning we used the hard tyre all the time. In the afternoon we tried the soft tyre and I crashed when I was doing a long run. When I came back, I only had time for two more laps and I couldn't improve. I felt comfortable with the bike, but we need to keep improving. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.”

23rd Izan Guevara 1:37.485 (+1.307): “We rode the whole first practice on the same tyre. We looked for feelings and we saw how the tyre was behaving. In the afternoon we tried to find a good lap with the new tyre, but we are still struggling a bit. We are adapting better and better to the bike and we are improving our lap times. Today we were 1.3 seconds off the first, while in Jerez we were two seconds off. It's a big step forward and we'll try to keep improving every day.”
