Dixon enjoys again and finishes just thousandths off top 3

RCB GASGAS Aspar rider completes his best Friday of the last months and ends the day with good feelings. Izan Guevara finishes in the provisional Q2 positions

Ai Ogura has arrived to Sepang ready to make up for his crash there last year. The Japanese rider fell down when he was leading the race and the overall standings. That day he lost a lead that he was unable to regain in Valencia and finished the season as runner-up. This year, Ogura faces the Malaysian Grand Prix with the aim of fighting for the victory again and he has started on the right foot. The Japanese has been the fastest in a day in which the top five have finished within two tenths. The Moto2 leader, Pedro Acosta, has closed this top 5, while his rival for the championship, Tony Arbolino, has finished the day in 19th place, out of the provisional Q2 positions. Tomorrow's increasing rain chances could make difficult for the Italian to get through to Q2 and prevent him from a good position on the grid, which could move Acosta closer to the world championship crown.

RCB GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon has enjoyed again on the bike after some difficult weeks. The British has arrived to Malaysia after not being able to finish the last two races, but today he has felt comfortable again with the bike and has finished just over a tenth off the fastest time. With still margin to improve, Dixon is confident that he can keep improving the bike set-up to fight for a win that has not achieved since the Catalan Grand Prix. His teammate Izan Guevara keeps making steps forward and has closed the first day in Sepang within the positions that give provisional access to Q2. The Spanish is in a good moment and wants to take advantage of it to consolidate himself in the category. Tomorrow Guevara will try to take part in Q2 for the second GP in a row in order to fight for another great result in Malaysia.

4th Jake Dixon 2:06.243 (+0.150): “It has been the best Friday of the last few months. We are coming from some tough GPs for me, but today I'm happy with the feelings. I have had some difficult moments, but today I have enjoyed again. We still have margin to improve and we will go step by step.”

14th Izan Guevara 2:06.982 (+0.889):  “It has been a day I have enjoyed because I am starting to understand the bike well. We have finished in provisional Q2 positions, which is important because of the possible rain of tomorrow. If in the end the last practice is in the dry, we'll try to keep improving and to secure a Q2 spot.”
