The British rider takes his third podium of the season and moves up to fourth in the overall standings

Pedro Acosta has achieved his fourth victory of the season, his second in the last three years at Sachsenring. Arbolino, who has started from second place, has tried to put up a fight and has overtaken Acosta in the first corner. However, the Spanish rider has retaken the lead before crossing the finish line for the first time. The two riders who lead the overall standings have tried to get away, but only Acosta has managed to do it. On the other hand, Arbolino's pace had started to drop and he had to fight until the last moment for second place with Jake Dixon, who has finished third for the ninth time in his career.

Polarcube GASGAS rider Jake Dixon has secured his third podium of the season at the German Grand Prix. The British has kept himself in the top five at the start of the race. Dixon has been in the pursuing group with Aron Canet and Alonso Lopez, but he had a better pace to push and has reached the last two laps with possibilities to overtake Arbolino. However, the British rider has crossed the line 0.095 off the Italian. With this third place, Dixon is now fourth in the overall standings, just three points behind the top three. His Polarcube GASGAS Aspar teammate Izan Guevara has not had his best weekend in Germany. The Spanish has not been able to complete the race after a crash on the ninth lap, in a day in which he was setting his best pace of the weekend. The current Moto3 World Champion will keep working with his team to find better feelings next weekend in Assen.

3rd Jake Dixon (+2.825): “A massive step. I was 11th here last year. Frustrating to be 3rd again though. I tried a lot to comeback and I know I can find a bit more but on that last lap I had zero grip. There were not many prime places to pass and I made mistakes trying to have a go at 2nd. I gave everything. I wasn’t quite strong enough for the win and Assen could be perfect time to pounce before going into the summer break.”

Izan Guevara (DNF): “A race where I tried to find my limits and, sometimes, it ends this way. I didn’t have the best start but concentrated on regaining ground until the crash. Not the best conclusions from our time here at the Sachsenring so we’ll forget it and look ahead to Assen where we’ll take the same approach to make steps forwards.”
