The British rider returns to the first position of the grid for the first time since the 2022 Dutch GP and will have a great opportunity to close the gap in the standings
Jake Dixon has taken his first pole position of the season today, the first since the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix, on a day in which he had already been the fastest rider in the morning. In Q2, Dixon has set a time of 1:44.089, one tenth quicker than Aron Canet and Ai Ogura, who complete the front row of the grid. Meanwhile, Pedro Acosta will start the Catalan Grand Prix from ninth position, with his main championship rival, Tony Arbolino, starting from further back, twentieth. The Italian is having a difficult weekend and has not been able to go through Q1 to Q2. With these results, Asterius GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon will try to complete a good race and close the gap to the top two in the overall standings.
Asterius GASGAS Aspar rider Izan Guevara has had a difficult day on the Catalan track. The Spanish has not been able to make the most of his bike and tomorrow will start from 28th place. The current Moto3 World Champion hopes to find a better feeling in the race to leave the Catalan Grand Prix with more confidence.
Pole Jake Dixon 1:44.089: “Yesterday was a difficult day, but thanks to my team we have been able to change the situation. We have made some improvements to the bike and I have felt very comfortable. As in previous years, tomorrow it will be crucial to control the tyre wear. I'll go out focused on my job and we'll see what we can do.”
28th Izan Guevara 1:45.950: “It has not been an easy day. I'm struggling with this situation, but with perseverance we'll improve. It's time to keep our heads up and keep working.”
