FRENCH GP

Dixon and Guevara look forward to their next race in France

Inde GASGAS Aspar riders close the first quarter of the Championship this weekend with the aim of continuing improving

The historic circuit of Le Mans hosts this weekend a new round of the World Championship, the 1,000th since the start of the competition in 1949. Pedro Acosta arrives at the French track as the Moto2 leader, although he is tied on points with Italian Tony Arbolino. This weekend they will have to start from zero and fight again for a victory that would allow them to stand out in the general standings. Arbolino and Acosta have won three of the four races this season; the only one that they couldn’t win was at Jerez. There, Sam Lowes returned to the top step of the podium after two years. He is the only rider in the category to have won at Le Mans along with Celestino Vietti, even though the Italian did it in Moto3. Both Acosta and Arbolino failed to finish last season's race, in which Aron Canet and Somkiat Chantra joined the current Moto2 champion Augusto Fernández on the podium.

Inde GASGAS Aspar closes the first quarter of the season with the aim of continuing its progress. Jake Dixon and Izan Guevara face a new round of the World Championship with positive feelings from the Jerez test in mind. There, with the tranquillity of not competing for a place on the grid or for a result in the race, they worked with their technical teams and both were able to resolve doubts about the set-up of their bikes to face the next rounds. Dixon is seventh in the World Championship standings and has always been in the top six when he has finished the race. The British rider wants to reaffirm the step forward that includes him in the group of the strongest riders of the category with a good result in France, where last year got the second position on the grid. His teammate Izan Guevara continues with his adaptation to the category and in the Jerez test got a very positive feeling that he hopes will allow him to continue making steps forward and to fight for his first points in France. In 2022, Guevara achieved in Le Mans his first back-to-back podium finishes, a run that he managed to extend until Assen, in his fight for the World Championship.

Jake Dixon: “We travel to Le Mans, a circuit where I have enjoyed and led races before. It's a track where I feel comfortable, last year we managed to start from the front row and I think it's going to be a great weekend.”

Izan Guevara: “This is my third Grand Prix, in France, where I got a podium last year. I feel confident after a test where we were able to run fast. We will see what happens at Le Mans because it is a circuit where it usually rains. I am ready both physically and with the bike. We will give our best.”
