Dixon among the fastest in Italy

The British rider has finished in the top ten in both practice sessions, with Izan Guevara 23rd

Pedro Acosta has proved again that Mugello is a good track for him as he has topped the timesheets of the two practice sessions of the day. The Spanish has set his best time in the morning and nobody has been able to beat him. Acosta will try to take advantage of his good feelings to look for the victory on Sunday and to get closer to Tony Arbolino, who has ended the day in eighth place. Celestino Vietti and Alonso López have finished behind Acosta, one and two tenths of a second off the Spanish rider's time respectively. Aron Canet, who took pole on this circuit in 2022, has ended fifteenth, out of the provisional Q2 positions.

Autosolar GASGAS Aspar rider Jake Dixon has ended the first day at Mugello with good feelings. The British has finished third in the afternoon session, only behind Acosta and Lopez, but he has closed the day seventh after not being able to improve the lap times that some of his rivals have achieved in the morning. His Autosolar GASGAS Aspar teammate Izan Guevara is satisfied with his first laps in Italy. The Spanish rider has finished the opening day of the Italian Grand Prix closer to the front riders than in previous Grands Prix and has ended half a second off the provisional Q2 places. The current Moto3 champion will keep working with his team to take another step forward and continue to close the gap to his rivals.

7th Jake Dixon 1:51.708 (+0.780): “After a few weeks off, it's hard to get back into action. That's why I completed quite a few laps today. In the afternoon we made a step forward with the bike and I'm happy for that. We will try to improve for tomorrow. If we can keep making progress, we can make a good performance.”

23rd Izan Guevara 1:52.523 (+1.595): “We have improved a lot compared to the French Grand Prix. We have finished a second and a half off the fastest. It has been a good first day, but we have to keep working with the team to get closer and closer.”
