Dixon aiming for his fourth consecutive podium at MotorLand

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has finished in the top three in four of the last six races

Since securing his first podium of the season at the Catalan GP, CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon has shone in Moto2. Dixon ended just off the top 3 at Assen, finished second at Sachsenring, took the top spot at Silverstone and returned to the podium at the Red Bull Ring by finishing third. With four podiums, three of them consecutive, Dixon has become the rider with most points in the last six races. The British is now in seventh place in the World Championship, but has reduced the gap to the leader by 21 points, from the 89 that separated him from Sergio García after the French GP, to the current 68 points. In Aragón, Dixon wants to continue extending his streak and add a new podium, on a track where he still does not know what it is like to get it, and where in 2022 he was fighting for fourth place when he crashed on the last lap.

The World Championship returns to MotorLand Aragón for the first time since 2022 to contest the twelfth round of the season and Moto2 arrives in a key moment of the year. García leads the standings with a 20-point advantage, but the Spanish rider has not finished in the top three since the Dutch GP, before the summer break. The second-placed rider, Ai Ogura, is also not in his best form, as he needs to be declared fit by doctors to compete in the Aragon GP after suffering a fracture in his right hand in Austria. Their rivals will try to take advantage of this situation to close the gap.

Izan Guevara has great memories of MotorLand Aragón. The last time the World Championship visited the track was in 2022, when the Spanish rider was fighting for the Moto3 title. Guevara dominated the entire weekend: on Saturday he took pole position and on Sunday in the race he imposed his pace to lead from start to finish. The Spanish gave his rivals no chance and won his fourth race of the season, a victory that allowed him to consolidate his lead in the lightweight category. Two years later, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider returns to MotorLand in a very different situation, but with the same motivation and desire to achieve a great result. On one of the tracks he likes the most, Guevara will work to continue making strides forward in Moto2 and be able to constantly fight with the leading group.

Jake Dixon: “The weekend in Austria was an example of how, without giving up, working from the start to the finish of the GP, we can fight for great goals. We have four podiums in the last six races and, if we continue like this, we will be able to reach the end of the season with a chance of getting a good result.”

Izan Guevara: “MotorLand Aragón is a track that I really like. I am going to give my all. The last visit to Aragón was incredible. I have achieved great results in both the Junior World Championship and the World Championship and this weekend we are going to fight to achieve it again.”
