CFMOTO Inde Aspar will fight to come back in Thailand

Jake Dixon will start from eleventh position, while his teammate Izan Guevara will start from eighteenth

Ai Ogura will start from pole position in the Thai GP, a GP in which he can be crowned Moto2 world champion. The Japanese rider, who has set the benchmark in the last practice session, has only needed three laps to achieve the best time in qualifying. Ogura has set a time of 1:34.728, a register that has put him just 51 thousandths ahead of his closest rival in the World Championship, Aron Canet, and 74 thousandths ahead of Diogo Moreira. To mathematically seal the title in tomorrow's race, Ogura only needs to finish in the top five, regardless of the position in which his rivals finish.

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team will have to fight to make a comeback in the Thai GP tomorrow. Jake Dixon will start from eleventh position after he has not after not managing to complete a good lap. The British had been among the fastest all weekend and he has gone straight to Q2, but in qualifying he has been unable to replicate his best times. He has made a mistake on his best lap and then, when he has crossed the finish line to start his last attempt, the session had already ended. His teammate Izan Guevara will start tomorrow from eighteenth position on the grid. The Spanish has had to compete in Q1 after finishing the last practice session in twentieth place. In Q1, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has set the fifth best time and has ended just 20 thousandths off making it to Q2. With this result, Guevara should have started from nineteenth position, but after a penalty to another rider, he has gained a place on the grid.

11th Jake Dixon 1:35.121: “I have made a mistake in my first lap. In the last run I have waited much and I have not been able to complete a last flying lap. In the end, I have only been able to finish eleventh. It has been a shame, I should have prepared better for qualifying. We will see what we can do tomorrow.”

19th Izan Guevara 1:35.314: “We have a good pace, but we have not made it into Q2 because we lack speed on one lap. In Q1, we have finished fifth, thousandths off Q2 positions. Tomorrow we will have to fight to come back again.”
