CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team opens the fifth GP of the season

Guevara has finished seventeenth, while Dixon has been twentieth after crashing at Le Mans

Sergio García has been the fastest rider on the first day of the French Grand Prix, achieving a time of 1:35.473. Only Alonso López has been able to follow García closely and, after being first in the morning, he has finished the afternoon session 76 thousandths off his time. Fermín Aldeguer has completed the top 3, although he has finished two tenths off the best time. Joe Roberts, who leads the Moto2 standings for the first time, has been fifth, more than three tenths off.

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team has opened the fifth Grand Prix of the season with an intense day of practice. Izan Guevara has finished in seventeenth position after working throughout the day to find grip with the tyres. In the final part of the session, the Spaniard has made a mistake when he was in the middle of what could have been his best lap, which has impeded him from progressing in the timesheets. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider knows what areas he needs to work on in order to improve for tomorrow, a day in which he will be aiming for a direct entry into Q2. His teammate Jake Dixon has started the day in the top ten, finishing eighth in the morning, seven tenths off the fastest time, having been the quickest during the most of the session. However, in the afternoon, the British rider has suffered a crash that has affected the rest of the practice, he has been unable to improve his morning time and has finished in twentieth position.

17th Izan Guevara (+1.007): "It has been more difficult than in Jerez, I am struggling to find grip. We have improved a lot from one practice to the next and I hope to continue making progress, because we know what we have to change and we will work on it. I could not close my best lap because when I was trying to get into the top ten I went long in a corner. Tomorrow, we have another chance to get straight into Q2 and we will keep fighting for it."

20th Jake Dixon (+1.326): “This morning was good, although I struggled with few things. This afternoon we have started with used tyres and I have crashed at the end of the back straight. I have had to come back to the garage in order to repair it and when I have come back on track, I didn’t feel the same. I need to understand exactly what has happened, but hopefully tomorrow will be better.”
